FAMILY UNIT. Social isolation, far from generating a high level of anxiety, should be an opportunity to share more pleasant moments with the family, however, today is quite the opposite. For Juan Alvear Rodríguez, General Director of the Biblical Union of Peru, this problem is due to the individualism in which we have become accustomed to living due to the long working hours on the part of the parents and due to the dependence of the children on technology.

Juan Alvear explained that everyday life does not allow family union due to the various tasks and roles that each of the family members fulfill, today due to social isolation, we have the opportunity to generate union in the family.

“First, we must organize ourselves in the activities of the home that allow the participation of all the members. For example, that some are in charge of tidying and cleaning the rooms while others cook, and thus different activities that generate responsibilities, help solidarity and respect for each member of the family. This means that both adults and children and adolescents work; it should be remembered that one educates by example, "he said.

Juan Alvear explains that everyone must participate without exception to achieve the goal of uniting us more as a family. “We must rescue all the activities that integrate us into the family. A recommendation, let's avoid individual activities because they will generate distances and possibly serious problems; what we want and seek to unify for which we must all participate, "he said.

The Bible and the family
About the family, Juan Alvear recalled that in Deuteronomy 6: 6-7, the following is explained: “Record in your heart these words that I am sending you today. Continuously instill them in your children. Tell them about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you go to bed and when you get up ”; therefore, we must support and instill Christian values in our families and an alternative is reading the Bible where everyone participates.

The senior manager of the Biblical Union of Peru, stressed that this crisis must be adopted as an unbeatable and unprecedented opportunity in the history of the country so that both parents and children can join. "In 1 Timothy 5: 8 it is emphasized:" He who does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his own house, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever ", this is a good occasion to provide values of unity, solidarity, respect and love for God, ended.
